Black Opal, LLC has named Eden Zeilo as its new vice president of global integrated marketing.
Zeilo joins the team from Unilever, where she held the position of director of brand marketing and strategy at Unilever North America. In her new role, Zeilo will oversee all aspects of marketing across both BLK/OPL and Fashion Fair.
“Growing up, I always wanted to work in fashion or beauty; I was such a girl’s girl,” said Zeilo. “I still remember begging my mom for eyeshadow every night in eighth-grade and picking out a rich blue eyeshadow to match my blue sweater to wear on picture day. My immigrant parents weren’t the most supportive of my career choice since I had a strong math and science background. It wasn’t until business school that I realized I could combine my passion for beauty and business acumen. Once I landed in beauty, I knew that I could be my authentic self, which is why I’m so excited to join Black Opal, LLC and work on the legacy brands, Fashion Fair and BLK/OPL. It is such an honor to continue serving my community and living out my purpose.”
Zeilo’s marketing and sales management expertise span abroad from Canada to Latin America, Europe, Africa and Australia. Previously, she was the director of brand marketing and strategy at Unilever North America. While in this position, she domestically managed haircare and beauty brands in the market, under the Sundial Brands umbrella. She executed brand strategy and global brand marketing campaigns including media, social, digital, creative, PR, and retail for SheaMoisture and newly launched Madam by Madam CJ Walker. With a master of business administration degree from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s in operations research from MIT, Zeilo has prior strategy experience at Samsung and served as an analytics consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton.
