Aris Vrettos has joined Croda as director, sustainability strategy and transformation. It is Vrettos’ first within a commercial organization; prior to joining Croda, he was director of the Centre for Business Transformation at the University of Cambridge’s Institute for Sustainability Leadership, UK.
"I am genuinely delighted to be joining Croda, a science-led company with authentic leadership and ambition on sustainability," said Vrettos. "I look forward to working with my new colleagues, our customers and other stakeholders in the exciting journey ahead to further enhance Croda's impact and influence and provide the sustainable solutions needed for the next decade and beyond."
Vrettos has more than 15 years’ experience in sustainability science, policy, finance and business leadership. He is expected to challenge Croda to stretch its already industry-leading sustainability ambitions and commitments. The new position will also see the sustainability expert support Croda’s business sectors in further enhancing their sustainability strategies by working in partnership with their customers and suppliers. In addition, he will oversee development of the sustainability competencies and training programs required across Croda to enable every employee to contribute to achieving the company’s Commitment to be Climate, Land and People Positive by 2030.
"I am really excited to welcome Aris, a globally recognised sustainability thought leader, to the Croda family," said Chief Sustainability Officer Phil Ruxton. "He has a deep passion for delivering positive impacts to planet and society through commercial organizations. This extensive experience will enable us to turbocharge our approach to meeting our 2030 Commitment and look beyond this to what sustainability leadership must mean in future decades."
