“From day one, JPMS was committed to being a conscious company, it’s just in our ethos,” said Michaeline DeJoria, John Paul Mitchell Systems CEO. “We are grateful to have Sean join the JPMS family and to share his experiences to help guide our future initiatives, so that our portfolio of brands continues to evolve and ultimately we become a leader in the sustainability space.”
As CEO, Michaeline DeJoria has spearheaded the JPMS brand’s global sustainability pledge, led the launch of its first clean beauty line, Paul Mitchell Clean Beauty, and has fostered partnerships with like-minded, eco-conscious nonprofits such as Reforest’Action and Bees for Development. Since joining JPMS, Ansett has led JPMS’ inclusion with SPICE, the sustainable packaging initiative that develops solutions to drive the future of sustainable packaging for cosmetics in three key areas.
JPMS says Ansett and DeJoria will work to actively shift the brand’s packaging format, resulting in the inclusion of more sustainable packaging, a transition to PCR and an overall reduction in Scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon emissions.
“I’m very much looking forward to working with all of the brands under John Paul Mitchell Systems to strive towards the goal of having a positive impact on the planet,” said Ansett. “JPMS has a strong heritage and a vested interest in their environmental and social impact, and I’m honored to be a part of this team delivering more sustainable operations and products to our loyal consumers.”
Prior to founding some of his own ventures, Ansett held executive roles in corporate responsibility with Apple, Gap Inc. and Burberry.
