With all the dreamhouse-like buzz surrounding Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling as Barbie and Ken in Warner Brothers’ upcoming comedy-fantasy, “Barbie,” due out summer 2023, Aqua’s 1997 hit “Barbie Girl” seems the current anthem behind the renaissance of this doll beloved since its establishment in 1962.

Indeed, the Mattel doll has long been the inspiration behind Barbie enthusiasts’ infinite array of glamorous shoes, makeup looks, hairstyles and outfits—all with the color pink dominating her kaleidoscopic wardrobes and that iconic Dreamhouse.
On the heels of the success of Truly Beauty’s PowerPuff Girls and SpongeBob collections, the brand is celebrating Barbie’s 60th anniversary by teaming up with the brand to create what could be the “ultimate holiday gift” for the Barbie lover: The Barbie Dream Duo.
The set features a pink whipped body butter including key ingredients acai berries to fight free radicals and protect skin from pollutants; matcha to calm redness; and a vegan collagen booster to plump, hydrate and reduce wrinkles.
The gift set also includes a mini pink purse made from 100% vegan leather complete with a heart-shaped handle and iconic Barbie logo.
Truly Beauty’s collaboration with Barbie isn’t the only partnership with the beloved toy this year. In July, UK-based skincare company 7th Heaven collaborated with Barbie to educate young women about the importance of self-care, beginning with their skin, with a facial mask trio. This Fall, Mattel’s Barbie recognized Madam C.J. Walker with an Inspiring Women doll, too.
The Barbie Dream Duo is $70 on the Truly Beauty website.
