This February, the Color Street Foundation is supporting Black History Month with a partnership with Jackson State University, one of the largest historically Black colleges and
universities (HBCU) in the United States.
To honor Black History Month and the College Scholarship Design Program, Color Street created the Cultural Celebration nail strip ($14) – a glittery white and black design inspired by traditional West African Mudcloth from Mali.
Proceeds of this strip will support Color Street’s mentorship initiative with design students and awarding a total of $20,000 in educational scholarships.
With this inaugural program launch, Color Street will be working with at least 15 graphic designers and mentoring the students to help build their portfolio and develop skills. Come spring, these same students will help design Color Street nail strips, including 2024’s Black History Month charitable strip.
Cultural Celebration and the brand’s other charitable strips can be shopped here.
