Lancôme has named Korean performers Hoyeon and Aya Nakamura brand ambassadors.
Hoyeon
Hoyeon began her career in 2011 as a freelance model at the age of 16. Within two years, she signed with a local agency, placed as a runner-up in the fourth season of Korea’s “Next Top Model,” and landed on the cover of Vogue Korea. After her international runway debut in 2016 at New York Fashion Week, she quickly became a perennial favorite among top designers, photographers and magazines.
As an actress, Hoyeon catapulted to global superstardom with her breakout role in “Squid Game.”
“I’m deeply honored to join Lancôme and the other amazing ambassadors who are a source of inspiration to me and others around the world,” she said. “It’s a dream to be partnering with such an iconic brand that empowers women and makes them shine inside out.”
For her fan-favorite role in “Squid Game,” Hoyeon won Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series at the 2022 SAG Awards and earned a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
“It’s an honor to welcome Hoyeon to the Lancôme family,” said Françoise Lehmann, Lancôme international president adds. “The brand was impressed to witness Hoyeon’s incredible success story and how she became the face of a generation thanks to her career achievements together with her dazzling personality. Lancôme is excited to sign a global Korean ambassador, proof that the Korean creative artistic wave inspires beyond its frontiers.”
Aya Nakamura
Songwriter, performer and acclaimed artist Aya Nakamura has also been named a Lancôme Global Ambassador.
Having started her career in France, Nakamura reached notoriety at the age of 23 with her song “Djadja.” Thanks to her multi-cultural background, and inspired by many musical genres, her sought-after music blends African tones with pop rhythms, and her unique musical style elevated her to the top of the international charts.
With her affirmative expression of beauty, Nakamura brings a new artistic point-of-view, according to the company, which also noted that she paved her own path and invites her fans to celebrate their individuality and embrace who they are. After starting her music career at the age of 19 with her first single “Karma” on Facebook in 2014, she became an unmissable artist with her songs being listened to six billion times.
