US Patent No. 11,766,388 B2 (Daniel Chen, James Swanzy); Mary Kay Inc., Addison, TX, has patented a method of cleansing a human's skin in need of exfoliation that entails: obtaining an apparatus comprised of a water-permeable absorbent material (like a sponge, cloth, or mesh) which has an outer surface and an opposing second outer surface; and a composition of salicylic acid, Matricaria recutita extract and aloe vera extract. The composition exists between the two outer surfaces of the absorbent material, which is configured to absorb water and allow that water to contact the composition so as to release, solubilize, or release and solubilize that composition.
The method continues by placing the apparatus in water heated to 30°C to 100°C for a sufficient period of time so as to release, solubilize, or release and solubilize the composition to yield a treated apparatus; and contacting the human's skin in need of exfoliation with the treated apparatus to exfoliate the human's skin in need of exfoliation.
