The Best in Beauty
CEW honors the beauty products of the year.

The beauty industry came out on May 1 to celebrate the highly anticipated Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW) Beauty Awards, which honors the most innovative beauty products of the year. CEW President, Carlotta Jacobson, speaking at the Grand Ballroom of New York’s Waldorf-Astoria, welcomed attendees, noting, “The annual awards are determined by those in the know—more than 4,000 professionals working in the field. What is more powerful than the votes of women who represent more than 1,100 companies in the beauty industry?”

The guest host of the award luncheon and ceremony was Mario Cantone, star of Sex and the City, who was joined by celebrity presenters including the stars of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New York City, Simon Doonan, Creative Director of Barneys, Gretta Monahan, Style Expert for The Rachael Ray Show, Ingrid Grimes-Myles, Michelle Obama’s Makeup Artist, Shontelle, Spokesmodel and Pop Star, as well as industry executives.
In addition to recognizing product innovation, the CEW Beauty Awards selected the winner of the Indie Beauty Award, a category which this year garnered 20 company entrants, representing the newest start-ups in the world of beauty. This year’s Indie winner was NIA 24, a niacin-powered skin care line. Winners by category were as follows:
