Clarins, Paris, and Procter & Gamble, Cincinnati, reported the six-year contract for Clarins to distribute P&G's Hugo Boss, Giorgio, Lacoste and Valentino perfumes in the U.S. will terminated at the end of 2005. Clarins executives said the agreement had allowed the company to establish Azzaro and Thierry Mugler perfumes solidly in the U.S. market.
With a turnover totaling more than $50 million, Clarins executives now believe the company can establish an independent organizational structure. However, Clarins continues to remain open to new alliances either with P&G or other partners, according to reports.
