Jeen International: James Griffin, formerly technical service manager for Rhodia Home, Personal Care & Industrial Ingredients has been appointed technical sales manager. He has over 18 years of technical experi ence and will be responsible for strategic accounts in North America.
PureOlogy: Sandra Carr and Nicole Neula have joined the company as brand managers. Carr covers the southern California territory and Neula’s responsible for northern California.
AHBAI: The American Health and Beauty Aids Institute has elected current chairman, Summit Laboratories president Clyde Hammond, Sr. and his executive cabinet, to serve a second two-year term as AHBAI officers.
In-Cosmetics: Reed Exhibitions has appointed Richard Hesk as the new exhibition director for In-cosmetics. He previously worked for Tetra Pak in its global cosmetic processing division supplying processing equipment to the leading global manufacturers of skin and hair care products such as L’Oréal, Wella, Proctor & Gamble, Beiersdorf and Henkel.
Chemcentral: Kristine J. Weigal was promoted to vice president, corporate business development. She has served in sales management positions since joining the company in 1986 as a sales representative. She most recently served as director of corporate business/account development.
Phil A. Scafido has been appointed senior vice president, director of sales and marketing. He will be based in the firm’s Chicago headquarters. He succeeds Bill Hough, who was recently appointed president of Chemcentral Australia Pty. Ltd.
Chemcentral’s board of directors elected Samuel W. Ach to the position of senior vice president, general counsel and secretary. He fills the position left by William D. Mulliken, who retired.
Zotos International: Elizabeth Kenny has been appointed to the newly created position of senior vice president of marketing, core brands. Kenny will focus on continuing to grow the Core Brands business and also expand the business through new product launches and new category development.
Zotos also announced the promotion of Tim Carr to vice president of its custom laboratories division. Carr joined Zotos as executive director of custom labs in 2001. Prior to Zotos, Carr held VP positions at CBI Laboratories, Boucheron Fragrances and YSL Fragrances.
Michael Floros has been promoted to vice president-supply chain operations. He joined Zotos in 2004 as head of the forecasting and customer service team.
FitzChem Corp.: Deborah Zopel has been appointed to a new position as inside sales representative to support the company’s growth in the personal care industry. Her responsibilities will include technical assistance, as well as product recommendations for personal care customers.
CPAC: Samuel P. Waites has joined Cleaning Technologies Group (CTG), CPAC, Inc.’s commercial cleaning chemicals and hard goods business unit, as regional manager. He will be responsible for the training and development of CTG’s nationwide network of distributor partners and manufacturer’s representative groups, as well as the development and achievement of sales plans and strategies for the northern region of the U.S.
CTFA: The Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association has appointed John Hurson as executive vice president of government affairs. Kristen Bogenrief is joining the organization as executive vice president of finance and administration.
Herbalife: Chief operating officer Gregory L. Probert has been promoted to president and chief operating officer. Probert joined Herbalife in 2003, and has overall responsibility for the company’s business operations in 60 markets around the world. Steve Henig has been appointed to the newly created post of chief scientific officer with responsibility for the company’s product research and development function.
Colgate-Palmolive: President William S. Shanahan has retired from the company. The board of directors has elected Ian M. Cook, currently chief operating officer, to become president and chief operating officer upon Mr. Shanahan’s retirement.
The Estée Lauder Companies: Javier Perez has been named vice president for strategic planning and development. Mr. Perez will assume responsibility for the coordination of the activities of the company’s business information center and its market research group.
Peter Lichtenthal, senior vice president of global marketing has been promoted to global general manager of M-A-C. He will report directly to John Demsey, who continues to oversee M-A-C as well as lead the Estée Lauder brand.
Ciba Specialty Chemicals: Brendan Cummins, currently head of the plastic additives segment, has been appointed to the new position of chief operating officer. The company will be led by the executive committee with two teams: the chairman’s committee, focusing on strategic development, and the operating executive committee, focusing on the operational management of the business.
Quest: Isabelle Parize has been appointed group vice president of the fragrances business, and member of the Quest board. She will be based at the Quest Fragrances worldwide headquarters in the United Kingdom. Ms. Parize was with Schwarzkopf and Henkel for eight years in various international general management and senior marketing positions.
Frutarom USA Inc.: Jennifer Czerner was appointed technical business manager and will work closely with the company’s functional food team in both the U.S. and Switzerland.
Hill Top Research: Steve Inglish and Joel Epstein have been hired as business development directors, working for the health and personal care business unit. Mr. Inglish will work in the Midwest and western U.S., while Mr. Epstein will work in the Northeastern region. The health and personal care unit performs safety, efficacy and sensory testing services for companies that develop and market skin care products, prescription pharmaceuticals, OTC pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
DS Containers: Michael Stack has joined the company as account manager. He will be responsible for DSC’s sales in the Midwest. He had been territory manager for Illinois at Neighborcare Pharmacy Services, Inc.
Arch Personal Care Products: Fiona Lam has joined the technical marketing group. She will also be responsible for assisting in identification of commercial opportunities to meet region specific needs as well as overseeing technical service support to domestic and international markets.
Sanskriti Thakur has joined the personal care sales team as account manager, northeast region. She was previously creative design project manager for clothing line NYCPHAT.
Lintech International: Two new sales representatives have recently been added to the plastics, rubber, adhesives and composites group. Scott Erwin is based in Atlanta, GA and covers eastern Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi. John Foskey, based in Dallas, TX, will handle plastic accounts in east Texas and northern Louisiana.
Levlad: Casi Hudson has been appointed director of marketing. She will oversee all marketing activities for both the branded and private label divisions.
Stölzle-Oberglas: Mark Devonald-Smith will join the Austrian glass company’s sales team in their Knottingley, UK plant. He was with International Bottle Company for over 20 years.
Yankee Candle Company: Richard R. Ruffolo has joined the company as senior vice president of marketing and innovation. Hope Margala Klein has joined the company as vice president, general merchandise manager.
Playtex Products Inc.: Thomas Schultz has been named senior vice president, research and development. Most recently, he was vice president, corporate technology officer of the Nu Skin Division of Nu Skin Enterprises.
Induchem USA: Kimberlee Panaligan was appointed account manager, joining the east coast sales force.
Quest International: Dr. Greg Adamson has been appointed vice president product safety and regulatory affairs, fragrances. He was formerly director of toxicology and regulatory affairs for Avon Products Inc.
