CHINA: Broomfield, CO-based Aloecorp has completed negotiations to lease 35 acres of land in the Sanya region of Hainan Island. Negotiations are also underway for Aloecorp to lease an additional 540 acres, and ultimately up to 1000 acres of land in the same region.
An aloe plantation and new aloe processing facility are expected to yield 2.5 million aloe plants, according to company executives. Planting began in the third quarter of 2002 and the first harvest will occur at the end of 2004.
