Chemyunion highlighted several ingredients at In-Cosmetics. Aquasense is a concentrated hydroglycolic extract of Angico (Piptadenia colubrina) standardized in total polysaccharides. According to Chemyunion, the material promotes long-term cellular hydration and induces gene expression of filaggrin and involucin to provide greater corneocyte cohesion to keep water and other moisturizers in the skin.
Aquasense also induces fibronectin gene expression, allowing for greater dermal-epidermal adhesion and structure. It increases epidermal water channels (AQP-3), allowing for a better distribution and maintenance of water, glycerol and other skin NMFs.
Chemyunion maintains that Aquasense can increase glycerol content in skin; repair and/or maintain the barrier function by decreasing transepidermal water loss and increase corneocyte adhesion.
For those with sensitive skin, Chemyunion offers Relievene SK, phenylpropanoid compounds derived from cynamic acid, beta-alanyl-L-hystidine and L-alanyl-glutamine. The ingredient is said to improve the subjective signs of sensitive skin. Moreover, it improves cutaneous relief, reduces fine wrinkles and has antioxidant action that reduces cell membrane damage and re-establishes the activity of redox homeostase, skin’s natural antioxidant system.
Finally, Seriseal is a sericin nanoparticle, in cationic form, that promotes hair conditioning effects. The material seals the cuticles to help restore chemically-damaged hair. According to Chemyunion, Seriseal is superior to keratin in promoting hair shine.
