Honeywell introduced a new skin-friendly cooling agent for the personal care industry at In-Cosmetics in Munich. The cooling spray, called Asensa DS 826, can be used in after-sun products, fragrances and lotions.
Asensa DS 826 cools through an evaporative process on skin, but unlike existing hydrocarbon and alcohol technology, DS 826 is non-flammable and odorless. It is also non-ozone-depleting and will not dry the skin, according to Honeywell executives.
“This is another example of how Honeywell’s expanding line of Asensa products is meeting the needs of the personal care industry,” said Philip Orawski, marketing manager for Honeywell’s personal care business. “DS 826 is a better way to achieve a cooling sensation in a variety of applications.”
DS 826 is the newest product in Honeywell’s Asensa line of ingredients for personal care products. Asensa products include versatile polymeric materials as well as zeolites, which are used to create a warming sensation or to absorb odors. Asensa additives are available in a variety of compositions, properties and particle sizes.
