New Business Director at Active Concepts
Active Concepts: appointed Chris Nichols as business development director for Europe. In addition to the Active Concepts range, Mr. Nichols’ role will also include responsibility for the product ranges of Arbor Organics and Active Micro Systems, for whom he is also global brand manager. He was previously global market development manager for Rohm and Haas and a director of MGS Micropure. Mr. Nichols is also widely known for his work in the British Society of Cosmetic Scientists, where he has served in the roles of honorary secretary and president.
Botanceo Specialty Ingredients: hired Andrew Baum as president and chief executive officer. He joined the company from SemBioSys, where he was president and chief executive officer from August 1998 to January 2009.During his time at SemBioSys, Mr. Baum coordinated the creation of Botaneco as a stand-alone SemBioSys subsidiary. He brings broad agricultural, business, development and operational experience to the team; having formerly spent 16 years at Calgene, Inc. planning and executing Calgene’s plant oils business.
Botaneco Specialty also hired David DelloRusso as its new sales account manager for Eastern North America. He comes to Botaneco from Cognis Corporation, where he spent three years as a regional key account manager and an account manager for the East Coast region.
Innospec: promoted Patrick S. Williams to president and chief executive officer. He had been executive vice president and president, fuel specialties with the corporation since 2005. In addition to this role, he also assumed responsibility for the active chemicals business in 2008. Prior to 2005, he was chief executive officer for the corporation’s fuel specialties business in the Americas, having held a number of senior management and sales leadership roles in that business since 1993.

Joico: appointed Laverne Tschappat as director, business development. Mr. Tschappat joined the company from Enso Beauty where he was national sales manager. Prior to Enso, he built a 13-year record of achievement in the beauty industry managing multi-million dollar territories for both Redken and Graham Webb. Mr. Tschappat’s duties include growth and development of the company’s North Division.

Raeleen Damien was recently promoted to the position of marketing specialist, international export for Joico. In her new role, Ms. Damien will manage the marketing promotions and new products for the firm’s international export division. In addition, she takes on brand responsibility for the international core brands.
Revlon: elected Ann Jordan as a new director to its Board. The election of Ms. Jordan will increase the size of Revlon’s Board of Directors to 12 members and increase the number of independent directors to eight members. Revlon will continue to have a majority of independent directors on its Board. Ms. Jordan serves as a director of Catalyst Inc., a leading non-profit membership organization for women's business initiatives, and as an honorary trustee of the University of Chicago and The Brookings Institution, a non-profit public policy organization based in Washington, D.C. She also currently serves as a director, trustee or member of the following organizations: The National Symphony Orchestra (Chairman); Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (Trustee); the National Museum of African American History and Culture (Member); and WETA, the Washington, D.C. public broadcasting station (Member). From 1970 to 1987, Ms. Jordan's professional career was spent in the areas of social work and education. Shehas formerly served as a Director on the Boards of several public companies, including: Johnson & Johnson (from 1981 to 2007); Citigroup, Inc. or its predecessors (from 1989 to 2007); Automatic Data Processing, Inc. (from 1993 to 2007); and Allied Security Services, LLC (from 2007 to 2008).
