SoftSheen-Carson, a top-selling ethnic hair care brand, is commemorating its 10-year anniversary with a yearlong celebration commencing with Black History Month this February.
The brand was formed through the joining of two powerhouse companies – SoftSheen and Carson Products – creating a major player in the ethnic hair care sector.
With a history that dates back over 100 years, the brands of SoftSheen-Carson are long-standing staples in the African-American community.Prior to the merger, each brand made waves in the ethnic hair industry, filling the needs of African-American women and men throughout the world with products delivering new to the market technologies.
Innovations over the companies’ history include: the first no-lye relaxer, Dark & Lovely, which made it possible for women to relax their hair at home for the first time and the first men’s depilatory brand, Magic Shave, which first sold over 108 years ago.
