Rubbermaid appears to be taking on P&G's Swiffer Wet Jet with its new Reveal microfiber spray mop.
Consumers use hot water and their own cleaning solutions in Reveal’s refillable bottle, and the trigger on the mop handle allows for easy release of the liquid to prepare a floor for cleaning.
The Huntersville, NC companysays the new device, available this summer, will provide "great looking floors, minus the expense of replacement pads, refill cleaning solutions and batteries required by the leading spray mop cleaning system.”
According to Rubbermaid, the spray mop’s reusable microfiber pad and refillable bottle will deliver consumers more than $50 annually versus the leading spray mop.
“Not to mention, these features also make Rubbermaid Reveal substantially greener than other cleaning systems,” noted Dave Valliere, senior brand manager for Rubbermaid.
