Starting planning your outfit now. The Sept. 15 meeting of the Ohio Valley Chapter of SCC will feature a presentation by celebrity hair stylist Nick Arrojo from TLC’s “What Not To Wear.” Arrojo’s talk will center on “Using Beauty & Grooming to Transform Lives and Find Success in the Personal Care Industry.”
Arrojo began his career as a Vidal Sassoon apprentice. He won the prestigious Young Hairdresser of the Year Award and, at 21, became Vidal’s youngest ever assistant creative director. After 20 years in the industry, including stints as Creative Seminar leader for Wella International and director of education for Bumble and Bumble, New York, he opened Arrojo studio in Manhattan. In 2002, be became the hairdressing host for “What Not to Wear.” the reality TV show on TLC that boasted 8 million weekly viewers. He rolled out his own line of products in 2007.
The meeting, which will be held at the Newport Aquarium in Newport, KY, is being sponsored by Grant Industries and Glenn Corp. It includes a meal in the aquarium’s Riverside Room and an open bar. The cost is $45 for OVSCC members and $60 for non-members through Sept. 10, or $55 or $70 after Sept. 10.
