Net profit fell to £414 million ($665.4 million) from £448 million, hit by an exceptional pretax charge of £104 million relating to the acquisition of SSL International PLC, which owns the Durex and Scholl brands. Operating profit excluding exceptional items rose 16% year-to-year to £703 million.
