The Scentsy Family Foundation,the charitable giving arm of the growing Meridian, ID-based home fragrance company, will present the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) with a check for $613,177 on April 18.
This donation is Scentsy’s largest cash contribution to date and is part of the company’s overarching goal to donate $1 million to breast cancer charities across the country by 2013.
Scentsy, which sells wickless candles heated indecorative ceramic warmers, introduces a new warmer every six months to raise funds for a national charity. The firm’s “Love, Life, Hope” warmerfrom the Fall/Winter 2010 Catalog was designed for breast cancer survivors and their families.
“When we introduced the ‘Love, Life, Hope’ cause warmer, we had no idea it would surpass our goal of a half million dollars,” said Heidi Thompson, president and co-owner.
Scentsy said it has a network of more than 100,000 independent consultants.
