AkzoNobel is launching Structure Cel, its line of cellulose polymers, in North America during Suppliers' Day. These sustainable, versatile polymers provide high surface activity, along with wide molecular weight ranges and a degree-wide range of molar substitution, according to AkzoNobel.
The derivatives include ethyl hydroxyethyl cellulose (EHEC), methyl ethyl hydroxyethyl cellulose (MEHEC) and hydrophobically-modified ethyl hydroxyethyl cellulose (HM-EHEC). Structure Cel has applications as thickeners, texture modifiers, emulsion stabiizers and rheology modifiers.
In personal care formulas, Structure Cel can provide more sustainable, nonionic rheology control; modify the aesthetics of a formulation; increase the volume and quality of foam in cleansing systems and improve thickening efficiency.
