Celebrating hairdressing talent from all over the world, the 2011 Wella Professionals’ International Trend Vision Award (ITVA) culminated in spectacular fashion on Oct. 30, as 85 finalists from 49 countries assembled in New York to compete for the coveted Young Talent and Color Awards. Each international competitor won their national final in order to showcase their own interpretation of one of the 2011 Trend Vision looks this weekend in New York.
Jake Unger from Hob salons (Great Britain) won the prestigious Young Talent Gold Award and the highly coveted Gold Award for Color went to DeLing Wu from Di Qiu Cun salon (China).
For the first time, Wella ITVA judging was also open to an online audience for the special ‘People’s Choice’ Award.Over 16,000 votes flooded in after a live on-line competition broadcast.The on-line audience favorite in the Young Talent category also reflected the judges’ choice Hob salons from Great Britain, while the People’s Choice Award for Color went to Salon Shyne from Canada.
“The spirit of Wella Professionals ITVA event is truly captivating, providing a global stage for top stylists as well as the up-and-coming talent. The competitors have shown yet again this industry is full of creative potential and the shows were awe inspiring,” said Adil Mehboob-Khan, global president, P&G Salon Professional.
