Memorial Day Weekend is just days away and in honor of this national holiday, PIC Pest Free Living, a venerable family-owned firm specializing in insect repellent products, is donating 100,000 citronella repellent wristbands to Operation Gratitude, a non-profit, volunteer-based organization that sends care packages to troops overseas.
The donation from PIC will be included in Operation Gratitude’s annual shipment of “Patriotic Drive” care packages this spring and summer, and will help to protect American servicemen and women from insect borne diseases such as malaria, which are common outside the United States.
“We are proud to make this donation to Operation Gratitude to show our respect and appreciation to the troops who keep us from harm every day,” said Eric Rubel, COO at PIC Pest Free Living
“It’s wonderful to see U.S. companies that truly care about the health and well-being of their fellow Americans,” said Carolyn Blashek, president and founder of Operation Gratitude. “We are thrilled to be working with PIC to deliver a safe and effective mosquito repellent to our heroes in harm’s way. We know the troops will greatly appreciate PIC’s generous donation.”
Operation Gratitude annually sends 100,000+ care packages filled with snacks, entertainment items and personal letters of appreciation addressed to individually named U.S. Service members deployed in harm's way, to their children left behind, to military families and veterans in financial distress due to unemployment, to emergency first responders and to Wounded Warriors recuperating in transition units.
Since its inception in 2003, Operation Gratitude volunteers have shipped more than 785,000 packages to American Military members and their children.
