Unilever has been given the green light by the Cuban government to form a joint venture with Intersuchel S.A that will sell home and personal care products in the country.
Unilever Suchel S.A. will operate in the Mariel Special Development Zone (ZEDM). The firms are expected to construct a plant in Mariel Special Development Zone (ZEDM; production is expected to begin in late 2017.
Products that will be sold in the country include Rexona deodorants, Lux, hair care brand Sedal, Omo laundry detergent and Close-Up toothpaste.
According to reports Unilever will invest approximatley $35 million into the joint venture, which will also handle marketing and distribution.
