Cutest Systems, a contract research organization (CRO) based in Cardiff, UK, has acquired Reading Clinical Research (RCR Aspect Ltd).
RCR Aspect is a CRO specializing in human volunteer studies for beauty care, medical devices and pharmaceutical products and this acquisition will strengthen the portfolio of services that Cutest Systems can offer across these sectors. RCR Aspect was set up by clinical trials specialist Laura Marshall in 2013 to service the personal care, healthcare and pharmaceutical industries, testing the safety, efficacy and acceptability of their products in human volunteers. Sadly, Marshall passed away in 2014.
Over the next few months, the RCR Aspect business will be fully integrated into Cutest Systems.
“This acquisition is part of the strategic expansion of Cutest Systems following new investment in 2015, and will further strengthen our services in the personal care, medical device and pharmaceutical sectors, supporting the ongoing growth of the combined companies,” saide Stewart Long, CEO at Cutest Systems. “In addition, Laura Marshall was a personal friend of all of us at Cutest and we are pleased that there is a legacy for the highly respected business she created. We are pleased to be providing ongoing service and support for clients of RCR Aspect and looking forward to working with them in the future.”
