Direct-to-consumer company Madison Reed has rolled out its first at-home highlighting kit. Light Works is billed as an ammonia-free two-step kit for natural-looking balayage highlights achieved at home.
Madison Reed's team of color experts spent over a year to develop Light Works to insure that offers the same two-step process as in the salon: first, lightening, and then toning to refine the color for natural-looking, balayage highlights. The kit also includes one application of Bond Building Cleansing Treatment to fortify highlighted hair, which helps prevent future breakage.
Madison Reed also includes its patent-pending wishbone balayage applicator that aids in achieving natural-looking highlights.
"Madison Reed was founded to improve the hair color experience for the millions of women regularly coloring their hair at home. With the introduction of Light Works, we are now reinventing highlighting and making it attainable for women to achieve 'lived-in' highlights for hundreds of dollars less than you'd spend at a salon," said Amy Errett, CEO and founder.
Light Works will be available this month on Madison-Reed.com and at Madison Reed Color Bars for $44.95 and for $35.95 for members. It will also roll out to Ulta stores and Ulta’s website and will be a service in Madison Reed Color Bars.
