US Patent No. 10,231,914 B2: Lynette Batton of Greensboro, NC has patented an effervescent tablet for eliminating red wine discoloration of mouth, offensive odor of mouth and for cleaning the palate. The method comprises mixing an excipient, a disintegrating agent, a flavoring agent, a sweetener and an active agent in a V-blender; adding a lubricant to the V-blender; mixing the excipient, the disintegrating agent, the flavoring agent, the sweetener, the active agent and the lubricant in the blender for 25-40 minutes to get a homogenous composition; collecting and compressing the mixture on a tablet press; and packaging the tablet in a foil pouch.
The excipient comprises a combination of a rice starch and a di-basic calcium phosphate, sorbitol, sodium bicarbonate, potassium bicarbonate, microcrystalline cellulose, sodium chloride, sodium carbonate, and magnesium oxide. The disintegrating agent is crospovidone. The the flavoring agent is a natural flavoring agent. The sweetener includes a stevia leaf extract and a sucralose. The active agent is malic acid.
