A bill in New Jersey, S 2098, has resurfaced in the State Senate that restricts phosphorus content and requires labeling thereof for household cleaning products.
The bill had a hearing on August 17 for which HCPA collaborated with the Chemistry Council of New Jersey to provide testimony. The HCPA’s recommendations included aligning the disclosure requirements with those in California, as well as requests for clarity on the phosphorus restriction and an extension of the associated sell-thru dates.
