Ravago Chemicals North America (RCNA) has formed a partnership with Valtris Specialty Chemicals, a producer in metal stearates and specialty additives. RCNA will distribute the Valtris materials under its existing product portfolio for the food, nutraceutical and pharmaceutical (FNP), and personal care segments within the Life Ingredients Division. This partnership will help both companies to better service, supply and distribute specialty additives to diverse industries across the US.
“We are excited for the opportunity to expand our relationship with Valtris into the FNP and personal care segments. The combination of superior quality products produced by Valtris along with our complimentary line card, is aligned with RCNA’s solution based strategy for supporting our customers’ needs and business development,” said Hector Rodriguez, VP business segments and strategy.
The first phase of the new initiative between the two companies will see Valtris added to RCNA’s multi-faceted Life Ingredients line card. Among the many specialty chemicals and additives in their portfolio, Valtris produces metal stearates used as lubricating additives in various personal care, pharmaceutical and plastic compounding applications. Its metallic stearates include magnesium, calcium, aluminum, zinc, barium and lithium.
The partnership comes at a time when the global metallic stearate market is expanding and growing. In 2017 it was projected to be almost $4 billion and is forecast to surpass $7 billion by 2024.
“We see the demonstrated value in the go-to-market strategy RCNA has in place for the Life Ingredient market segments. This partnership will allow our extensive metal stearate portfolio to be well represented in personal care, pharma, nutra and food additive applications,” Jason Sanchez, global VP- lubricants .
