On Oct. 21, HCPA and allied trade associations met virtually with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) to continue conversations about the implementation of New York State Assembly Bill A6295A, which restricts the manufacture, distribution and sale of household cleaning products containing 1,4-dioxane in the state.
During this meeting, the group discussed updated language to the one-year waiver process, how NYSDEC plans to handle date-of-manufacture/sell-through dates, and the treatment of concentrated products.
While nothing is set in stone, HCPA says these conversations have been very productive and NYSDEC seems agreeable to work with them on implementation. The next meeting is scheduled for Nov. 9, and industry will specifically present information about concentrated products.
