Supergoop!, a protective skincare brand, is partnering with international recycling leader TerraCycle to divert plastic waste from landfills and turn it into new recycled products.
Not recyclable through conventional methods like curbside recycling programs, Supergoop! is now providing customers with the unique opportunity to recycle this product packaging through the Supergoop! Recycling Program.
“At Supergoop!, we’re committed to making products that are good for people and the planet. Through this partnership with TerraCycle, we’re so excited to bring more positive change to our community and continue to change the way the world thinks about sunscreen,” said Supergoop! Founder Holly Thaggard.
Dedication to Health and Sustainability
This partnership with TerraCycle displays an existing dedication to health and sustainability. The SPF provider offers a reef-friendly, cruelty-free product line made with clean ingredients, which exclude oxybenzone, octinoxate, parabens and 1600+ other harmful chemicals.
Participation in the Supergoop! Recycling Program is simple. Sign up on the TerraCycle program page and mail in Supergoop! product packaging using a prepaid shipping label. Once collected, the packaging is cleaned and melted into hard plastic that can be remolded to make new recycled products. Every shipment of packaging sent to TerraCycle also earns collectors points that can be used for charitable gifts or converted to cash and donated to a nonprofit, school or charitable organization of their choice.
“With the launch of this recycling program, Supergoop! is not only creating products for healthier skin and lives, but also creating a healthier world through their continued commitment to the planet’s wellness,” said TerraCycle CEO and Founder Tom Szaky.
Any interested individual, school, office, or community organization can participate in the Supergoop! Recycling Program. To learn more about TerraCycle’s recycling programs, go here.
