Haus Labs by Lady Gaga has tapped Nicole Sokol as its new VP of product development. With more than 18 years of experience encompassing all categories of color cosmetics development, Sokol will focus on product strategy, product development, merchandising and product design.
The El Segundo, CA-based company said Sokol will be a pivotal player on the Haus Labs team in helping to grow the brand. She will be responsible for the conceptualization, initiation, development, evaluation and execution of new product development and formula improvements across multiple product categories. Sokol will work closely with the SVP of product development creating disruptive product concepts, lead the creation of ingredient stories, benefits, claim validation and product profiles to align with the overall brand and product marketing strategy, work with external R&D labs, contract manufacturers to support on-time and efficient project management and 360 execution, while identifying white space opportunities, gaps in the portfolio and new innovation sources.
Sokol has a 15-plus year track record creating breakthrough, award-winning makeup artistry-inspired products for brands like MAC and Makeup by Mario.
At her most recent post with Makeup by Mario, Sokol spent more than a year conceptualizing and developing new product launches. She worked directly with the president and CEO on speed to market calendar, created a new hybrid breakthrough category, and developed a top-selling franchise, while significantly outperforming makeup growth YTD in all channels. She spent six years at MAC, building the global eye product innovation and strategy in collaboration with SVP and marketing leads, while also leading compelling claims and storytelling, creating origination of concepts aiding in go to market global and consumer marketing 360° execution. Sokol has also worked with Avon, Revlon and Almay.
