US Patent No. 11,602,493 B2 (Jayesh A. Patel, Stephen Baldwin, Tom Meyer, Anna Erixon, Richard A. Presti); Beiersdorf AG, Hamburg, Germany, has been awarded a US patent for an anhydrous gel formulation. The formulations contains one or more active agents, skin conditioning agents, emollients, film forming agents, viscosity increasing agents and alcohol (ethanol).
The film forming agents comprise octyldodecyl/glyceryl hydroxy stearate dilinoleate dimethicone copolymer, acrylates/C12-22 alkylmethacrylate copolymer, polyvinylpyrrolidone, and beeswax. The emollients comprise ethylhexyl isononanoate and dicaprylyl ether. The viscosity increasing agent is fumed silica (surface-treated with silica dimethicone silylate). The skin conditioning agent is dimethicone/vinyl dimethicone crosspolymer.
