Skincare brand Body Proud is launching the #noBODYlikeyou campaign aiming to relieve the social pressure Gen Z feels to have a "summer ready" body.
Studies released in Men’s Health show that 78% of Gen Z feel pressured to have a summer body and 26% express anxious about how their bodies ‘should’ look. Body Proud is using TikTok and other social media to encourage Gen Z to be proud, confident, empowered, invigorated and energized about how they feel through the hashtags #noBODYlikeyou and #summerbodyready.
The company is partnering with Body Positive Alliance, a Gen Z student-led non-profit organization which advocates for the acceptance and representation of all bodies, regardless of physical ability, size, race, gender or appearance.
“We are excited to partner with Body Proud on the #noBODYlikeyou campaign to champion body positivity and deconstruct unrealistic beauty standards. Body Proud aligns with our organization’s advocacy for acceptance, representation and fair treatment for all bodies,” said Founder of Body Positive Alliance Cate Navarrete.
“With summer in full swing, there are added pressured that are being showcased across social media platforms to portray prefect and often unrealistic body images,” said Nora Zukauskaite, global marketing director at Body Proud. “We are once again rebelling and inviting our community to take over the hashtag #summerbodyready and covert it to a message that uplift and empower us.”
