Gencor has developed a dispersible version of palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) under Levagen+ to protect skin from oxidative stress-induced damage. Pharamako Biotechnologies LipiSperse technology in Levagen+ helps to increase bioavailability and functionality of PEA for beauty use, according to the company.
PEA is an endogenous fatty acid amide that is naturally produced in the body as a response to injury and stress. The production of PEA decreases as one ages. Levagen+ helps target inflammation, including chronic low-grade inflammation that is associated with age-related changes to the skin.
Common signs of decreasing levels of PEA in the body are uneven skin tone, fine lines, dehydration and dullness.
“We refer to Levagen+ as the body’s natural defense system. PEA is a powerful ingredient that can be applied in several health categories from beauty to sports nutrition,” said Gencor Co-founder R.V. Venkatesh. “We are excited and humbled that cosmetic brands are utilizing Levagen+ for its ability to aid in healthy inflammatory response, protect from oxidative stress and improve skin appearance.”
According to Gencor, Levagen+ is included in Lyma Skincare to improve elasticity, reduce redness, help slow the skin’s immunological dysregulation through the skin’s Extracellular Matrix and protect the skin from oxidative stress-induced damage.
Levegen+ can be used in gels, creams, powders, effervescents and more.
