Winter temperatures can drop into single digits and produce strong winds and precipitation. Couple extreme weather changes with quarantining indoors and consumers are facing extra dry skin right now. To help soothe it, the team at Peter Thomas Roth (PTR) last week expanded its Water Drench collection.
In stores now, Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Glow Serum features a 75% hyaluronic acid complex to help plump the look of skin with moisture for a dewy, youthful, healthy-looking luminosity. The company rolled out an exfoliant over the summer, as reported in Happi.
Sarah McNamara, executive vice president and chief marketing officer at Peter Thomas Roth, said the serum is also noteworthy for its gel-like, cloud-like texture.
“There’s something for everyone in the Water Drench collection,” she said. “The serum follows the SPF 45 moisturizer, where consumers really responded to its lightweight feel, and also joins a mist, eye patches and the classic cream.”
According to McNamara, the Glow Serum is to be used twice a day. You can pat it on over makeup to freshen the face.
Jeffrey Burge, global director of marketing, explained that the formula’s HydraFence component (3%) provides up to 120 hours of enhanced hydration. The serum also includes ceramide complex 5% to help improve the look of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as the aforementioned HA.
“While the other products are a drink of water for the skin, this is a glass of milk! It really nourishes and hydrates the face,” insisted Burge.
Sandy Lemmerman, vice president of global product development at PTR, shared clinical results about the serum. She said in a 1-week consumer-perception study on 45 women ages 25 to 55:
• 100% agreed skin looked renewed with a healthy glow;
• 97% agreed skin felt refreshed with moisture; and
• 97% agreed skin appeared plump, smooth, and less dry.
The Water Drench serum is said to be ideal for extra dry skin, which many consumers are facing this winter, and is already a welcome addition to the Water Drench collection, added Lemmerman.
The new product is sold at Sephora.com.
