The flexible properties of Dow Chemical Company’s Tergitol L Series Nonionic Surfactants offer flexible defoaming, wetting and emulsifying properties. This makes the series ideal for use in applications such as cleaning products.
The surfactants offer excellent solvency, low foam characteristics and broad compatibility with formulation additives. They also provide good thermal and chemical stability, are miscible in various organic liquids and are liquid at room temperature with little or no odor. The Tergitol L Series surfactants available in North America include four biodegradable grades: Tergitol L-61, L-62, L-64 and L-81. A fifth grade, TERGITOL L-101, does not comply with the European detergent regulation but is an efficient foam control agent in aqueous environments.
Dow’s VM-2270 Aerogel Fine Particles and VM-2260 Aerogel Beads are a new class of multifunctional hydrophobic silica particles that are efficient oil-phase thickeners and also act as excellent sebum absorbers in skin creams.
