US Patent No. 8,298,557 B2; Shiseido Company, Ltd., Tokyo, has been awarded a US patent for a cleansing cosmetic composition.
The formulation contains silicone oil, volatile hydrocarbon oil, dihydric glycol, polyoxyethylene glyceryl monoisostearate and water. The weight ratio between the silicone oil and the volatile hydrocarbon oil falls within the range of 0.3 to 3 and the cleansing cosmetic composition has a viscosity of 100 to 500 mPa·s at 25°C.
The silicone oil is selected from the group consisting of cyclic polysiloxane and phenylmethylpolysiloxane while the volatile hydrocarbon oil is a mixture of isododecane and isohexadecane.
