Procedure | |
Part A: To a suitable sized vessel that can house the selected size batch, add deionized water and heat 30 to 35°C with moderate mixing using a marine-type propeller blade. Add the Disodium EDTA and mix until dissolved. Once dissolved, discontinue heating and add the PemulenTM EZ-4U polymeric emulsifier into a slight vortex. Mix until dispersed. Once fully dispersed, add remaining part A ingredients with moderate mixing. Part B: To a separate suitable sized vessel that can hold all of part B, pre-blend ingredients 5-8; when clear and uniform, add part B to Part A slowly with moderate mixing. Part C: When uniform, slowly add the Fixate G-100 PR polymer to Parts A/B (mixing speed may have to be increased without aeration). Mix until uniform. Part D: When uniform, add ingredients 10-12 one at a time to PARTS A/B/C with moderate mixing. When uniform, use sodium hydroxide to increase pH to approximately 6.0. | |
