Procedure | |
Add Phase A with mixing to main vessel and mix at low speed (100-200 rpm) for 10 to 15 minutes until uniform. Add Phase B slowly to main vessel and combine until uniform. Add Phase C slowly to main vessel maintaining uniformity. The mixture may thicken slightly in viscosity. Once uniform, take the pH. Add Phase D slowly to main vessel. The solution will gradually thicken and become slightly hazy and become clear as the polymer is neutralized. Take the pH, adjust to desired pH, and then add Phase E. Once uniform, transfer to a suitable vessel.
Properties | |
pH: 5.5 to 6.5; Viscosity: spindle #4 at 10 rpm (25ºC) - 9000 to 12000 cst. Appearance: Clear to slightly translucent liquid.
