Kérastase Leads Popular Haircare Brands in 2024

Cosmetify's latest ranking shows search growth for Gisou, K18 and others, too.

2024 may be half over, but Cosmetify has compiled the year’s most popular hair care brands to date.

Per the firm, Kérastase leads the ranking with the second-highest number of annual searches (12.8 million), increasing by a quarter from last year. The brand boasts a substantial presence on both Instagram and TikTok. With 2.4 million Instagram followers and a significant number of posts, Kérastase also has a steady engagement rate. This month, brand also launched its first out-of-home campaign with actress Sydney Sweeney as global brand ambassador bringing its Elixir Ultime Hair Oil to a digital billboard in Times Square.

Gisou demonstrated the highest year-over-year growth in annual searches, which more than doubled, showing its rapidly increasing popularity. The brand also has the highest engagement rate on Instagram (2.3%) and is the most followed on TikTok, with 858,300.

K18 ranks third, with annual searches increasing by over three quarters, showcasing its rising prominence. Although K18’s Instagram follower count is lower than that of other brands, the brand compensates with a higher engagement rate on TikTok, 2.38%.

The study also revealed that Color Wow’s Dream Coat Anti-Humidity Hair Spray is the most popular haircare product, with a score of 9.49 out of 10.

Chris Appleton is the most popular haircare influencer, with almost 2 million searches, more than double the previous year.

The most common hair care-related question is “How to grow hair faster,” with over 1.3 million searches.

Jennifer Aniston continues to be a hair icon with the most popular celebrity hair.
