Who Made Newsweek’s 2024 List of America’s Most Responsible Companies?

Newsweek has released its annual list of America's Most Responsible Companies, which looks at corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The publication was assisted by Statista.

According to Michael Bausch, senior analyst at Statista, the survey results suggest that companies have been making improvements in certain areas over the last three years, with social responsibility scores notably on the rise.

“This positive trend indicates a commitment to enhancing corporate practices, particularly in response to societal expectations. The data reflects a gradual but encouraging evolution in companies' efforts to fulfill their responsibilities, highlighting a positive shift in their overall approach,” said Bausch in Newsweek.

This year, Newsweek's list included 600 of the largest corporations in the United States—100 more companies than in its 2022 iteration.

Consumer Goods Category

Chemicals Category

I&I giant Ecolab ranked No. 37 overall and was No. 3 in the chemicals category.

Also listed by Newsweek in the chemical category were: Univar (9/95 overall); Innospec (42/471 overall); IFF (27/286 overall); and Ashland (48/554 overall).

Retailer Category

Retailers on the list included Ulta (19/524 overall) and Bath & Body Works (23/562 overall).
