Improve the sensory experience of your products

Formulating products to meet specific consumer preferences is more important than ever. Now, with the SensiMap Formulating Concept, customizing the sensory profile of products becomes less complicated. Using the SensiMap Formulating Concept tools, it is easier to select the ideal combination of rheology modifiers and sensory modifiers and fine tune them to deliver precisely the right feel at exactly the right stage during application. For the SensiMap formulating concept, Noveon Consumer Specialties offers a range of Carbopol Ultrez polymers and Schercemol esters from which formulators may select options that impact texture and sensory in synergy with other ingredients in their formulation. Combining Carbopol polymers with Schercemol esters harmonizes sensory cues to provide a pleasant skin feel from initial application through to afterfeel. Carbopol polymers are renowned for their ability to modify rheology and stabilize emulsions. However, they also have dramatic potential to enhance other product attributes such as sensorial properties. Because they accomplish rheology modification and stabilization through a space-filling mechanism, Carbopol polymers occupy the entire aqueous phase of the formulation. Carbopol Ultrez 10 polymer can convey lightness and freshness, while Carbopol Ultrez 20 polymer imparts richness and creaminess. With Schercemol esters, formulators can tailor richness, spreadability, slip and persistence of emolliency to deliver precisely the irresistible sensory appeal desired. Light esters such as Schercemol NGDO ester feel soft with high slip and fast absorbency, while heavy esters such as Schercemol DISM ester convey richness and elegance. Kits are available of innovative skin care product prototypes exhibiting the SensiMap Formulating Concept. Kits are tailored to the unique sensory preferences of different global markets such as North America, Europe and Asia. Learn more at booth F-160 at In-Cosmetics in Amsterdam or at www.sensimap.com.
