Extensive processing, packaging and general plant equipment assets of the former Alberto-Culver world headquarters facility in Chicago will be sold at public auction at a three-day sale scheduled for July 21-23. Harry Davis & Company, a national industrial assets auctioneering firm, is facilitating the sale.
This is the largest personal care products manufacturing auction this year,” said Leonard Davis, president, Harry Davis & Company, “but chemical processing and general plant equipment buyers will also find excellent opportunities at this sale.”
More than 600,000 gallons of agitated stainless steel tanks, kettles and silos, some as new as 2011, will be sold. Five high-speed filling and packaging lines and associated conveyor systems, labelers and inkjet coders are included in the auction. A new, never installed Ronchi Rotobot bottle orienter and related filling and capping equipment are highlights of the packaging operation.
Water treatment equipment to be sold includes two GE Pro Series reverse osmosis skids, two Magatron water systems, ozone generators and two 12,000 gallon stainless steel silos.
A very large assortment of general plant equipment, laboratories and executive office furnishings, a fully equipped maintenance shop and hundreds of stainless steel pumps will all be sold to the highest bidders.
The former Unilever Alberto-Culver facility is located at 2525 Armitage Ave. in Chicago’s Melrose Park district. The real estate, including over 534,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing and office space located on 18.7 acres is available for sale.
