Subscription beauty box brand ipsy welcomed Fernando Madeira, the former president and CEO of Walmart.com, as its new president. Fernando brings nearly 30 years of commerce, media and technology experience to ipsy, and he will help the thriving beauty company continue to grow.
He also co-founded and spent 23 years as the CEO of Terra, the first Internet portal in Brazil, where he led ground-breaking initiatives including the development of the first legal music distribution website, as well as the first internet TV studio in Latin America.
“Over the last six years, we’ve created a powerful platform for individuals to express their unique beauty, connect with one other, and discover new products, looks and brands that are personal to them,” said Marcelo Camberos, CEO and co-founder of ipsy. “Fernando’s commerce expertise and his deep roots in media are a perfect fit for ipsy as we continue to scale our media platform and manage the tremendous growth from our e-commerce business--which is growing even faster than the Glam Bag in its early days.”
Jennifer Goldfarb, ipsy co-founder and former president, will stay actively involved with the company in her new role as executive chairwoman.
In addition, the company announced that Shopper, ipsy’s e-commerce business, launched out of beta with 400% growth since it began testing the new service in November 2017. ipsy Shopper launches with over 20,000 SKUs from over 200 innovative beauty brands.
