The American Cleaning Institute (ACI) released the following statement from Melissa Hockstad, president and CEO, on the election of former Vice President Joseph Biden to be the 46th President of the United States:
“We congratulate Vice President Biden and Senator Harris on their election as the next President and Vice President of the United States of America.
“The American Cleaning Institute, representing the cleaning product supply chain, looks forward to working with the new Administration. We want to continue to tell the story of how essential our industry and supply chain is to everyday health and well-being for billions of people around the nation and across the globe.
“ACI has a history of working in a bipartisan manner with lawmakers and regulators at all levels of government, as exemplified during the passage of the Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act during the Obama Administration.
“We want to be a source of information and expertise for this new Administration and the key agencies that regulate our industry, including the Environmental Protection Agency, Food and Drug
Administration and the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
“Cleaning products and their chemistries continue to play an important role in communities throughout the U.S. as the pandemic lingers on. Science and innovation are the backbone of our industry and we will showcase those dynamics in our conversations at both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue.”
