The American Cleaning Institute (ACI) is urging the U.S. Senate to approve President Biden’s nomination of Michael Regan to be the next administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
A letter was sent February 25 to senate majority leader Chuck Schumer (NY) and minority leader Mitch McConnell (KY) asking for their support in confirming Regan’s nomination.
The letter noted that, “As Secretary of the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality, Mr. Regan has gained a reputation of being a thoughtful, knowledgeable, capable and accomplished leader, traits that have earned him bipartisan support for his nomination. His previous experience within EPA offices will no doubt serve him well as EPA Administrator.”
“With Mr. Regan’s swift confirmation, the American Cleaning Institute believes that EPA can move forward with thoughtful implementation of the Lautenberg Chemical Safety Act, full restoration of the Safer Choice program and enhancing the ‘List N’ of disinfectants that are known to be effective against the coronavirus,” said Melissa Hockstad, ACI president & CEO.
