Customized beauty brand Function of Beauty has named Alexandra Papazian as CEO. She succeeds Zahir Dossa, co-founder, who will remain on the board as executive chairman.
As CEO, Papazian will be responsible for accelerating Function of Beauty's global growth, driving product innovation, expanding into new channels and markets, and continuing to build on the brand's industry-leading customized manufacturing capabilities.
Papazian has served in numerous leadership roles in the beauty industry and brings more than 20 years of experience building and growing top-tier global beauty brands for L'Oréal, including Giorgio Armani, Yves Saint Laurent, Ralph Lauren, Shu Uemura, Viktor and Rolf, and Maison Margiela. Most recently, she served as the global president for Laura Mercier where she was responsible for re-launching the iconic brand following its acquisition by the Shiseido group. During her tenure at Laura Mercier, Papazian led the company's global expansion in Asia, Europe and the Middle East, while transforming the company's digital and social media presence, redesigning the customer and point of sale experience, and spearheading the creative reinvention of the brand as aspirational, feminine, and modern.

In December 2020, Function of Beauty received a a $150 million strategic minority investment from L Catterton.
