New York City is the place to be for cosmetic chemists next week when the Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SCC) hosts its 77th Annual Scientific Meeting & Showcase from December 11-13 at the Sheraton New York Times Square. In addition to this major event for national chapter, the New York Chapter of SCC is hosting two special events in The Big Apple.

SCC Awards
At the SCC Annual Meeting, the Society will present several awards, including Maison G. deNavarre Medal Award (Roger L. McMullen); Merit Award (Liz Streland); Florence Wall Women in Cosmetic Chemistry Award (Dawn Burke-Colvin); and Robert A. First US-China Symposium on Beauty Market: Dec. 11
On Dec. 11 ahead of the official start of the SCC Annual Meeting, the NYSCC and Chinese American Cosmetic Professional Association (CACPA) will hold the 1st US-China Symposium on Beauty Market Trends. This special half-day program will be held at Convene (75 Rockefeller Plaza) will focus on navigating beauty/personal care sourcing and product development in China. Keynote presentations include: "Billion Dollars of Beauty Market in China," by Chaoyang Cai, founding partner of Chaileedo, China; and "Beauty Technology Trends and Development" by Angelike Galdi, Global VP, head of technology incubator cosmetic formulation, L’Oréal, USA.The full agenda and registration information are available online.
NYSCC Education Night: Dec. 12
Lastly, the “NYSCC Supports Education Night” is December 12 at the Edison Ballroom. This event helps support NYSCC’s education scholarships and grants. By facilitating and furthering education in the beauty and personal care industry, the industry will be well-equipped to source and create ingredients that meet consumers’ demands.
