New analysis of Google searches has revealed the most popular skincare ingredients—with coconut oil taking the top spot!

The research, conducted by cosmetic surgery information site Tajmeeli, looked at how often over 200 different skincare ingredients are searched online.

Every month, there are 43,000 searches for coconut oil, totaling 516,000 searches globally over the course of a year. 

The research also looked at the most popular product searches for the ingredients. Calamine lotion took the top spot with 318,000 monthly searches, followed by vitamin C serum (310,000) and hydrocortisone cream (306,000).

1.     Coconut oil - 43,000
2.     Vitamin E - 31,000
3.     Lactic acid - 24,000
4.     Collagen - 23,000
5.     Retinol - 22,000

8.     Vitamin C - 20,000
