On Nov. 14, Karl F. Popp will lead a national CEP course on cGMPs for Cosmetics and OTCs at the SCC’s national office in New York City. The course is designed to educate and review salient aspects of the cGMP regulations for drug products and pending GMP regulations for cosmetics. Formulators, production personnel, managers and quality team members will benefit from the practical, quality systems approach used to describe GMP requirements and activities.
On Dec. 8, SCC will host a CEP course on clinical and instrumental testing of skin and skin care products. The course focuses on non-invasive testing of human skin in vivo. Modern methods for testing the effects of skin care products will be discussed. The major emphasis will be on instrumental measurements of skin function. The course goal is to teach cosmetic scientists how the latest noninvasive methods for studying product effects on human skin in vivo can be used for research guidance and cosmetic claim support. The instructor will be Randall Wickett, Ph.D.
Also in December, SCC has planned a CEP course on fragrance in personal care. This Dec. 14 event at the national office will cover the sense of smell, the history of perfume, fragrance creation and duplication, aroma chemicals and reactions, fragrance applications in personal care and household products, fragrance regulations, natural and sustainable fragrances, aromatherapy and aromascience.
